Redwing Riding School closed on the 5th of September 2022.
Thank you to all our clients over our 37 years.
All our horses and ponies are still living at Blaikiewell to enjoy their retirement.
Redwing Liveries still has spaces available.
We have always conducted our riding school with careful consideration for the horses and ponies. We never sell our horses and when they are no longer fit for work they spend their retirement in their old fields, with their same pals, for the rest of their natural lives.
As we have evolved over the years, we have become more and more aware that sticks, whips and other gadgets, often used in riding and in training, can only have a negative effect on a horse or pony. We never use them.
We endeavour to teach every client to regard his or her mount as a partner, with emotions as well as physical feelings of pain and discomfort.
We now have an excellent staff, totally committed to teaching a kinder way of riding, and we have many sensitive and competent riders to our credit.
We welcome new clients who want to learn to ride without cruelty.
