Rosa was a beautiful chestnut Thoroughbred. She was a former livery who never enjoyed bring ridden and was very scared of being loaded. Her owner tried to sell her but her new owner did not get on with her and put her back. To save her further trauma we took her into the sanctuary.

Rosa was one of the most expensive horses to keep as she needed corrective shoeing and required to be sedated for the farrier every six weeks. In retirement Rosa was a wonderful affectionate horse, and it was a joy to see her looking happy and relaxed.
